What is Executive Functioning Coaching?
Executive functioning skills are the brain's "air traffic control": the skills that help students plan ahead, manage their time, start tasks without shutting down, and stay regulated when things get hard. When those skills are underdeveloped, even bright students fall behind. EF coaching teaches students how to manage their learning, not just what to study.

The Process
Simple from the start. Built for real life.
A relaxed 30-minute call. You share what's been hard, Debra asks questions, and together you figure out if coaching is the right fit.
Debra designs an approach around your student's specific struggles, not a generic curriculum off the shelf.
One-on-one sessions, about 50 minutes each, usually once a week. Online, or in person in Delray Beach and nearby. Practical tools, real strategies, and honest accountability built in.
Debra stays in regular contact so you're never left wondering. The plan adjusts as your student grows.

Debra Borenstein has spent her career working with students from early childhood through college. She holds five credentials spanning Elementary Education, Early Childhood, Reading, Educational Leadership, and Executive Functioning, so she understands how students learn at every stage, and what gets in the way.
Her approach isn't about pushing harder. It's about finding strategies that actually fit the student in front of her, and building from there.

Where Debra Works
Executive functioning coaching across Broward and Palm Beach County.
In person in South Florida, or online from anywhere. Most families mix the two once the school year gets busy.
Broward County
In-person executive functioning coaching for students in Fort Lauderdale, Parkland, Davie, Coral Springs, Plantation, Weston, Tamarac, Hollywood, Coconut Creek, Margate, and Pompano Beach.
Broward families are a growing share of Debra’s practice. Sessions are usually scheduled right after school or early evening, and many Broward students pair one in-person session a week with a shorter online check-in.
Palm Beach County
In-person coaching in Boca Raton, Delray Beach, Boynton Beach, Wellington, and West Palm Beach.
Debra is based in Delray Beach, so the south end of the county is where in-person scheduling is most flexible. Families further north often start online and add in-person sessions when it helps.
Online, anywhere
Virtual sessions work as well as in-person for most students, and they remove the drive entirely. Families across Florida and in other states work with Debra this way.
Online is often the easier fit once school, sports, and homework are all competing for the same afternoon, and it keeps the routine going through travel and summer.
